BOMBANANA! Not Working — Crashes, Mic and Lobby Fixes

These are the issues actually being reported in the studio's own bug-report forum as of 7 September 2026 — not a generic checklist.
First, the two things worth doing anyway
Check you are on the current build. Hotfix v1.0.1 shipped on 3 September, the day after launch. All three players should be on the same version.
Check your connection. Broadband is a listed requirement on both Windows and Mac. This game is online-only three-player co-op with voice chat — there is no offline mode.
The microphone isn't working
An open thread in the official bug-report forum, posted within hours of writing. This is a known issue, not something you configured wrong.
Worth trying:
- Confirm the game is using the input device you think it is
- Have a teammate check whether your monkey's mouth moves when you talk — voice-synced mouth animation separates "mic not captured" from "audio not transmitted"
- If you cannot fix it, take the mute monkey role — it does not need a microphone at all
Can't join or create a lobby
Also an open thread. Try the other route: if the lobby browser fails, use a room code, or the reverse.
"I had a free game downloaded, but it became paid"
Reported in the forum and it is not a bug. You had the demo, which was free during Steam Next Fest. It was taken down for the paid release. More about that here.
Failed to load il2cpp
The game is built in Unity, confirmed by the studio, and il2cpp is Unity's runtime. This error is a Unity-level failure rather than something specific to this game's logic.
To be confirmed: the actual fix. We are not going to copy generic Unity advice and present it as verified for this title.
Achievement name looks wrong
There is an open report about the First Defusal achievement having the wrong name. It is a display issue on the studio's side, not something you can fix.
Where to report
The studio's own instruction, from the FAQ: post in the Discord bug-report forum rather than emailing. They said in their 7 September post that they are actively tracking feedback there.
