BOMBANANA! Bomb Modules — Every Module and How to Work Them

How many there are
Lefto Studio's launch post gives the numbers directly:
14 New Puzzle Modules: 11 new standard puzzle modules · 3 CHAOS Modules — "Special modules designed to keep the Blind Monkey busy"
Those 14 were added on top of the four that shipped in the demo, so the full game has roughly 18 module types. The studio has not published a list of names.
Which ones we can confirm exist
These names come from official screenshots, Steam reviews written by players, and the official Discord. Where a module is only attested in one place we say so.
| Module | What players deal with | How well attested |
|---|---|---|
| Wire / Cable | Cutting the right wire from a bundle | Strong — visible in official screenshots, named in reviews, and there is a Wirecutting Expert achievement |
| Switch | A panel of switches to set in the right order | Strong — visible in screenshots, searched heavily in several languages |
| Direction | Arrows or a direction dial, worked in four stages | Strong |
| Calculation / Math | An equation with a result to enter | Strong |
| Braille | Raised numbers the blind monkey reads by feel | Strong — the blind player reads these back aloud |
| Symbol | Symbols where one of them emits a sound | Strong — described by a player in German: identify which symbol makes a tone |
| MonkeySays | A repeat-the-sequence module, four stages | Confirmed in the official Discord; players also call it "Simon Says" |
| Morse code | Timing-based signal to decode | Confirmed in reviews and Discord |
| Piano | Keys to play in the right order | Confirmed in reviews |
| Dice | Dice faces to interpret | Confirmed in Discord |
| Maze | Navigation puzzle | Mentioned in reviews and on Reddit as the one that breaks the usual pattern |
| Keypad / Numpad | Entering a code, with an ENTER key | Visible in official screenshots |
| Light · Lever · Odd/Even | — | Weak: players search for these but we have not confirmed them as distinct modules |
Direction, Symbol and MonkeySays are all four-stage modules — four rounds to complete, stage by stage. That came from a community guide in the official Discord.
CHAOS modules
Three of the fourteen are CHAOS modules, and the studio describes their purpose rather than their rules: they exist "to keep the Blind Monkey busy."
Practically, that reframes them. A CHAOS module is not another puzzle to solve carefully — it is a demand on the one pair of hands you have. If your blind player is tied up on a CHAOS module, nobody is executing answers on the normal modules. Deal with it early, while the timer is generous, rather than at ninety seconds when it competes with everything else.
A routine for a module you have never seen
You will meet unfamiliar modules constantly — that is the design. This order works regardless of which one it is:
- Blind describes shape and position. Not what it does, just what it is and where.
- Deaf reads everything printed on it — colours in order, symbols, digits — one item at a time.
- Mute finds the section and signals whether they have it. A clear "not yet" is worth more than silence.
- Answer relays back, and the blind player states the action before taking it.
- If two attempts fail, leave it and come back. Strikes are finite and another module is probably cheaper.
Why there are no solution tables here yet
The lookup rules — which colour means which action, which row applies — are not published anywhere we can verify, and we are not going to invent them. Every public reference we checked either lists the same four demo modules or writes around the problem the same way.
When we have tables confirmed against real play, they go up. Until then this page gives you what is verifiable: which modules exist, how they are structured, and how to work one cold.
